"Escape from yokai land" by Charles Stross. This is a very brief story of the Laundry Files. Angelton died some time back and Bob Howard has taken over as the interface to the "Eater of Souls". Angelton would have been sent to Japan where the allied orgnization is dealing with disturbing interventions. The Japanese organization does not trust Bob because he is new and gives him some smaller jobs before he faces the oni which is being called by the prayers of very young people as they visit the amusement park Shrine of "Hello Kittie". Bob escapes but this gives a forewarning of the eventually fate of the Laundry which will be overwhelmed by eldritch invasions. My advice for Stross fans is to find it and read it as it is very short. bliss
