So, unless one is writing software that directly interacts with the init system, or any of the other components that SystemD provides (and are not yet available in other init systems), it shouldn't matter if one is programming on/for Debian, Devuan, Arch, Fedora, Red Hat, or possibly even one of the BSDs.
